My inner brat wants to quip, “One bite at a time!”   But seriously, how DO you eat a stuffed green pepper?  Is it like a spinach salad which one never eats in public because it leaves stuff on your teeth?   Do you eat the slippery pepper at the same time as the filling, cutting through it with fork and knife?  Or, do you eat the filling first and then enjoy the pepper?

These weren’t your every day supermarket juices though.

Canada Day in Burlington was invigorating to say the least--and stimulating--and exhausting. Every few minutes they would stop, stretch out their necks to the top of the weeds, and look around.  Presumably, this was to check that the coop was still near, and to take a look at the world, quite literally, from a different point of view.  
We found it so amusing.

This is the first recipe I tried when I came home from rehab, so I can honestly say it's so easy you could make it with one hand tied behind your back!  Making this corn at Christmas has been a family tradition since the children were little ones.


3/4 cup brown sugar1/2 cup butter or margarine, melted2 Tbsp corn syrup1/8 tsp salt
6 cups popped corn1/4 tsp baking soda

I just wanted to let you know that the Short Fat Mormon Chick had a stroke 2 months ago and is recovering at a rehabilitation center. Unfortunatly the stroke has put her right side to sleep and she is relearning to do many things...like walking and how to use her left hand;  so blogging has been put on the proverbial back burner while she recovers.

In the name of modesty I am experimenting by challenging myself to wear only dresses and skirts for the next year.  Summer is usually a season for dresses and jumpers anyway, so I've already been wearing them since June.  They are cooler and more comfortable than pants.

We spent the long weekend on Cape Breton Island with dear friends.  Hurricane Earl made an appearance on Saturday, as predicted, and we did lose power at the chalet we rented.  We knelt together to pray for safety, and passed part of the evening playing word and memory games.  It all made for a delishiously memorable holiday weekend :-)

Our first harvest was these garlic scapes.

I chopped them in my mini processor with olive oil, and then froze them in ice cube trays so we can add them to soups and pasta sauces come winter.

Guess what I learned to make today?  How to make the copyright symbol! One just never knows when one is going to need to copyright something.

So, if you have a PC keyboard and would like to try it open a word document, hold down the Ctrl and Alt keys at the same time and then type the letter C. That's Ctrl+Alt+C.  Go ahead and give it a try!
So easy and yet so powerful.  Small things amuse me.

Upon entering the sewing studio this morning I was greeted by a spectacular sight. 


Jack Frost had visited in the night with his enchanted paint brushes and left a new masterpiece on the window glass.

This is one thing I love about living in a house with old windows. My nephew Zack was set apart as an LDS missionary today, and given a beautiful blessing by the Stake President. He is going to serve the Lord for the next 2 years in the Edmonton, Alberta Mission. We sure are going to miss his quirky sense of humour here. Look out Alberta!

I have finished those have-to-do projects and am now into the real fun stuff :-) Last night, after my Mommy-Daughter sewing class was finished, I got a start on the Christmas apron from my first free give away contest.

The hoarefrost drew me like mythical sirens.

You've got to be Kidding!</title><summary type='text'>No kidding! Just let me say that this method is so easy it should be illegal. There are only three steps.

1. Place clean fresh tomatoes on baking sheets. 

2. Freeze until hard as rocks. 

3. Place frozen tomatoes in freezer-safe containers. Done!
